Walk For Willow Challenge Launch

Trev

Head of People & Internal Communications

To get our partnership with Willow Foundation up and rolling, we've planned an all-company physical activity distance-tracking challenge, taking part throughout July this year.

The challenge will see our team members join with 5 other people from anywhere across Thrive Tribe. Your team can contain members that you won't physically be able to complete distance with in person, as the challenge will be completed individually. The whole team's individual weekly distances will be combined to create the teams combined and total distance completed for that week.

The challenge will only allow walking, jogging and running or similar activities such as completing a treadmill walk, or using a ski machine, to be counted. Cycling distances won't be allowed to be entered into this challenge though. But don't worry, we're planning a cycling-based challenge later in the year!

Each week we'll internally publish a leader board of each team's combined completed distances, but no individual distances will be shared. This submission will be via a link which will be provided on Totem each week throughout July.

Don't forget the 'TT Tokens'! What did you say, Trev? Let me explain... Each week we'll set an optional TT Token bonus challenge for all to take part in, should you wish to. If completed, with photographic evidence being supplied, The People Experience team will then award bonus distances to the chosen team's completed weekly distance.

Following the four week competition the total distance completed will be calculated and the team that completes the greatest distance, will win a prize for the members.

What do I need to do next to take part?

It's great that you want to take part in this challenge, thank you in advance for doing so. Here are the steps you need to complete, in order to take part.

  1. Find 5 other team mates across Thrive Tribe that you want to form a team with. Feel free to use WhatsApp, Teams and Bob to circulate messages if you're looking for additional people to join your team.
  2. Once you have your 6 team mates, collectively decide of your team name that you all will compete under.
  3. Nominate ONE person from your team to register the whole team to take part in the challenge. This can be done by completing this form here.
  4. Each team member then needs to make a £10 registration donation to The Willow Foundation. This can be done by clicking here.
  5. Sit back and wait for July 1st when the challenge gets underway.

All the above steps need to be completed by June 19th to ensure that you can take part in the Walk For Willow challenge. Thanks very much and wishing you all the best of luck.
