September Learning and Development Updates

Our L&D strategy
When I moved into my current post 18 months ago, one of my first priorities was to develop a Learning and Development Strategy. Looking back at it today, I’m pleased to see that many of the key objectives have either been achieved or are making excellent progress. One of the strategy's core objectives was to work closely with our frontline teams to better understand the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to be successful in their roles. This insight would help shape future learning content and create clear development pathways across the organisation.
This also presented a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to get involved in creating new learning content and resources, helping us build a rich library of CPD opportunities that can be accessed whenever needed. To date, we have developed seven new learning modules alongside a wide range of supporting resources, with more currently in development.
Another positive outcome of this collaborative approach has been the creation of our wonderful "Review Crew", who help proofread and provide valuable feedback on all new training content. Collaboration has been at the heart of everything we've created, ensuring that our learning resources are practical, relevant, and designed with you in mind.
As a result of this work, we have now developed nine learning pathways covering the core roles across Thrive Tribe. These were added to the induction brochure this morning and will continue to evolve as new resources and learning modules become available. If you would like to review the pathways and share your feedback, simply click on the induction brochure below and email me at [email protected] with your thoughts.
Leader's Development
On Tuesday, leaders had the opportunity to attend another inspiring training session with Sandra Howarth, alongside Mel Leslie and Sarah Pocklington, focused on creating a culture of conversation and building camera confidence. The session explored how cameras can influence communication and the quality of our conversations. It was a fantastic day of learning and reflection, with feedback including: "Engaging, insightful and reflective." "It encouraged me to think differently about how I approach conversations."
Training Tracker
We are also continuing to roll out our new training tracker across the organisation and I'm pleased to say it appears to be working well, with lots of positive feedback received so far. Currently, 15 services and teams are using the tracker, with a further 11 still to be added. While it is a time-intensive process, I am hopeful that all teams will be onboarded by the end of October. A huge thank you to Nat for helping to set set up the tracker, and to Ibrahim for continuing to work your magic behind the scenes to ensure the notifications are functioning exactly as they should.
