Our London Marathon Runners!

We were lucky enough to secure 3 places on the London Marathon though Tommy's, our charity partner. The 3 brave volunteers who will be taking on the challenge, are Tom Shirley, Annabelle Harding and Sofia Green. Well done to all three of you for putting yourselves forward for this and we wish you the best of luck with your training.
If you'd like to sponsor them and help them to achieve their fund raising target, you can do so here. Go Team Thrive Tribe!
Here's what running the London Marathon means to them:

Running the London Marathon has always been on my bucket list for the year that I’m “fit enough” - but there is no time like the present! I’m excited to challenge myself and to prove to others that achieving your goals is all about having the right mindset and positive attitude.
Not only is this an amazing opportunity for myself, but even better that I’m going to be fundraising for our fantastic charity partner Tommy’s. Tommy’s not only gives families support when they need it most, but their research is quite simply saving babies lives. I’m very proud to be raising money for such a great cause that will impact so many people’s lives.

I am thrilled to be running the London Marathon this year alongside some Thrive Tribe colleagues and in support of our incredible charity partner, Tommy's. This race has always been on the bucket list for me and having only moved to London a year ago for work I am excited to run around a place that now feels like home! I love setting myself a challenge and having a goal to work towards, so when this opportunity presented itself, I couldn't say no. Running has always had a special place in my life, my free therapy and escape into nature when things feel a little messy. After a knee injury that put me out of running for 4 months, I realised just how important it was to me and my wellbeing. The freedom of being able to run is something I will never take for granted again after this break. Now I am on the mend and ready to get back to running in the sunshine (and probably the rain knowing the unpredictable English summer weather...).
Another huge reason I want to partake in this event is to support the wonderful work of Tommy's Charity. I became an auntie just last month and this big life event in our family with the entrance of a beautiful new life into this world just reiterated to me how important the work of our charity partner is. I am honoured to be raising money for such an important cause!
Now to get training and fundraising, wish me luck!

It’sa real privilege to be running the London Marathon 2022 representing Thrive Tribe and on behalf of our amazing charity partner Tommy's. Pregnancy and childbirth is an incredible experience for many and as somebody who is lucky to have a big family I’ve seen first hand the joy that is experienced when things go well. However I’ve also seen the pain suffered when things don’t go to plan, and this reinforces to me the phenomenal work that Tommy’s do in identifying and reducing the number of babies lost during pregnancy, as well as supporting the families affected by the loss of babies.
I’ve also been an active person and loved a challenge and the London Marathon has been on the bucket list for some time. Working in a programme which supports Men’s Health and promotes a healthy lifestyle, this challenge gives me the incentive to look after my own health and wellbeing and to try and be a positive example of the change I hope to see from people throughout the MAN v FAT programme. I was inspired to see many of the guys I’ve met through the programme complete a marathon earlier this year and will do my very best to join their ranks by completing one of my own!
Any and all support from anybody with training, motivation or donations is gratefully appreciated!
