October Learning and Development Updates

Training Tracker
In last months’ update I mentioned the introduction of 9 new learning pathways for each of our core roles across front line services and the introduction of a new training tracker. One of the biggest challenges staff have encountered since the new training tracker was introduced, is knowing where to find the different mandatory and role essential modules.
To make it easier I have updated both Totem and the bank training brochure. For staff that have access to Totem, the training tab (People’s portal > training) has been updated. Many of the individual training modules have been removed and replaced with the 9 new learning pathways and the induction brochure. The induction brochure provides all the links to mandatory training, and the learning pathways house the role essential modules for each of the core pathways along with CPD modules. For bank staff, the training brochure also includes the induction brochure, learning pathways and the booking links for all live training. This is located on Teams > TT Shared Docs > TT Training > Bank Staff Training Brochure.
On Monday the training tracker will go live for 6 more services, which means some of you may get an email letting you know that a piece of training is either outstanding, due or overdue. The remaining outstanding services are Durham, Gloji, Gloji Smoke Free, Navigators and OYL. I’m taking a little pause to allow the 6 new services time to settle in, and to allow me to focus on some other work. You haven’t been forgotten and I’ll be in touch when your services have been added.
Upcoming Training
This month we are running another training module on sleep which is delivered by one of our DPP practitioners, Limor. This is taking place on 12th November, and we still have a couple of spaces remaining. Click the link below to book your space. More dates have been added to 2027 for Group Dynamics and Making the Most of your Personal Development Plan.
New Modules
We are nearly ready to release a new training module on “Applying the Biopsychosocial Model to Smoking Cessation” and have two other modules in the making on “Allergies” and “Stress.” Keep your eye on Totem for when these are released and they will also be added to the learning pathways as CPD modules.
Expression of Interest
We are interested to know how many of our staff currently hold ANutr or RNutr level membership with the Association for Nutrition and how many with an associate membership are looking to apply for registered nutrition status. For more information on this, click on the expression of interest post below.
