Monthly L&D Update
Welcome to our October update. Lots to update you on and a busy month of launches, so I am going to go straight into our successes.
Successes
This week I introduced our universal induction brochure to our leads. The aim of this brochure is to provide a single point of access for all leads, regardless of the pathway their new starter is joining. Its purpose is to bring a more consistence induction experience to Thrive Tribe whilst also embedding personal development from day one. When we think about personal development or Continuing Professional Development (CPD), it's easy to default to formal learning; like attending a course, webinar, or completing e-learning modules. While these methods have their place, they don’t fully reflect how people grow and develop in today’s workplace. Modern approaches to development emphasise continuous learning through a variety of experiences; on the job, through collaboration, reflection, and self-directed exploration. One of the new tools available to support this is the Personal Development Plan (PDP). Whether you're just starting out or well into your career, having a clear plan helps you stay focused, motivated, and aligned with your goals. See the link at the bottom of this article to access your PDP. Following the Product team’s webinar on weight loss medications, we also launched the new Behavioural Support for Obesity Prescribing (BSOP) training. The link can be found at the bottom of this article and is applicable to anyone that is delivering this pathway or has an interest in weight loss medication and how to support clients that are taking them.
What have we been working on this month?
I’m continuing to develop the Level 2 Behaviour Change training. While it’s taken a little longer than anticipated, the final updates are now underway. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you at our next update. This month, the Leads Induction Focus Group came together and offered fantastic feedback and insights into what should be included in their induction brochure. It’s a substantial piece of work, and I’ll keep you informed as it progresses.
Next steps
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be joining several Health Coach team meetings to hear directly from you about what’s needed in a Health Coach development pathway. A big thank you to everyone who completed the previous survey on this topic, your input has already provided valuable insights.
Other Updates
When completing the level 1 behaviour change, please ensure you complete both the pre and post knowledge scores. The post-knowledge scores are the only way I can track who has completed the training. A reminder of our ABCD (asset-based community development) and co-production training is now available to book onto. It is running on 11th November 2pm – 4pm, to register visit the What’s On calendar in Totem.
