Nigel is taking on a challenge!!! Starting on Thursday 27 June he will be taking on the Sea to Sea cycle challenge, cycling from Workington (Irish Sea) to Tynemouth near Newcastle to help raise money and awareness for Young Lives vs Cancer, a fantastic charity that has supported his family massively since September last year, following his son's sudden Leukaemia diagnosis. If anyone would like to donate towards this challenge, please use the link on this page.

Oliver, Nigel's son, is only 13 and has recently been diagnosed with T-cell ALL leukaemia, and started his treatment at the end of September. His family has had a lot of support from Young Lives vs Cancer, Oliver's treatment is at Queens Medical Centre (QMC) Nottingham, over 40 miles from his home near Lincoln, requiring frequent trips, often early in the morning which can be very stressful for Oliver. Young Lives vs Cancer has a house (Billy's House) opposite the hospital where Oliver and his family can stay overnight , which is essential for Oliver 's chemotherapy appointments and far less stressful for him and his parents. Young Lives vs Cancer has also been very supportive of the family, helping with travel costs and advising on non-medical support. They have also provided Oliver with gifts to make his hospital experience a more enjoyable one.
At Young Lives vs Cancer, they help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but they can’t do it without you.
