Level 2 Behaviour Change Training – Now Live!
Many of you have been patiently waiting, so I’m pleased to announce that the Level 2 Behaviour Change training is now live and ready for you to access. This training builds on the foundations from Level 1, taking a deeper dive into key behaviour change models and techniques to strengthen your confidence in supporting behaviour change conversations.
What you’ll learn
The course covers COM-B and Health Belief Models, with examples of how these apply to healthy lifestyle conversations. Self-efficacy and practical techniques to help clients build confidence in their ability to change. The four processes of Motivational Interviewing. Motivation and how to help clients uncover their intrinsic motivation for change. A range of behaviour change techniques (BCTs) to help you identify readiness to change, focus your sessions, and create helpful habits.
How to get the most from the course
Each topic includes interactive activities such as quizzes and reflective exercises to help embed your learning. If a topic feels familiar, complete the quiz to test your knowledge. If it’s new or challenging, take the time to complete all activities, especially the reflective ones to explore how the concepts apply to your role. The course is designed for bite-sized learning. Don’t feel you need to complete it all at once. Take time to pause, reflect, and consider how to apply each concept in practice. Please remember to complete the pre- and post-knowledge ratings, these are essential for us to track completion and measure learning progress.
Personal Development Plan
This course also introduces a Personal Development Plan (PDP), which will soon be added to the Level 1 training. The PDP helps you identify specific skills or knowledge areas you’d like to develop further and link them to your reflective activities. An ideal approach might look like this - complete one or two topics and their reflective activities. Use your PDP to plan how you’ll apply the new skills in practice. Try them out with a client and reflect; how did it go, how did the client respond and what might you do differently next time? Update your PDP and move on to the next topic. The aim is continuous reflection and growth, helping us all to develop our skills and present the best version of ourselves in every client interaction.
