L&D Working Groups

Amanda
Quality and Training Manager

In my Totem post introducing the new Learning and Development strategy, I mentioned that we wanted this to be a collaboration, to get your thoughts on the key skills and knowledge you require to be effective in your role.
Across TT, we have multiple different roles / specialties. To start them all at once would not provide them with the time and attention they deserve, so I will be starting with three roles and then in the coming weeks/months, I’ll be in touch again announcing the next three roles.
I appreciate that some of you may wish to be involved but may not have capacity to commit time away from your role. So, I will be approaching this from two angles, firstly I will be sending a survey to all those within the specific role via email. The survey will only take 3-5 minutes to complete, providing everyone with the opportunity to get involved and will focus on you identifying the skills and knowledge required. I will collate this information for the second part which is to create a working group. The working group will be a mix of new and experienced staff (to ensure we have a mixed perspective) reviewing the information and prioritising what should be included within a learning pathway for a new starter and secondly for an experienced staff member looking to grow their knowledge and skills. We will then work together to look at what resources we already have, what we can create and what is available externally and together we will curate a learning pathway.
Which roles are we starting with and how to do I get involved?
The first three roles I would like to focus on are: Diabetes prevention practitioners, Adult weight management practitioners and health coaches. If you would like to be a part of the working group, please complete the form below. I envisage each working group meeting once every 2 weeks for one hour initially. These meetings will likely spread further apart to monthly as we move into the content development phase. As you can imagine, this is all quite new, so some flexibility may be required until we can get a feel for how much work will be involved. I will be sending the survey to everyone within the next few days.
