NHS Structure: Integrated care systems

The structure of the NHS is constantly changing and it can be tricky to keep up to date especially if you haven't worked for the NHS previously.
Right now England is being divided into 42 NHS Integrated Care Systems (ICS) which will come into force on the 1st July. The ICS will take over the responsibility of commissioning for most NHS services, bringing the NHS together with other key partners such as local authority. ICS will take over the functions of clinical commissioning groups (CCG), overseeing local primary care, establishing strategic priorities and deciding how money is spent.
The Kings Trust have put together a 5 minute animation explaining the new structure and how integrated care systems work. To watch the video click the link here.
