Our Financial Position - Updated

On January 22nd, 2025, Tim sent a communication regarding some of the financial challenges we have been having as an organisation. I am writing to provide an update on this, and the knock-on effects on this year’s pay increases.
The consultation process and the reduction of headcount has now been concluded. Unfortunately, this led to 16 people being put at risk in the central and digital teams, and 9 being made redundant from their posts. It also led to a re-structure of how we organise and deliver some of our central functions, which we will tell you about in due course.
Our position has been exacerbated by the Government’s decision to impose mandatory increases to employer NI contributions and the national minimum wage from1st April. The combined effect of this is an additional £370k cost to Thrive Tribe annually, without any extra funding from our commissioners.
Whilst we are making progress with our broader financial situation, these extra costs have presented us with a new challenge. To further protect potential future redundancies, we have had to therefore make the tough decision not to grant any inflationary increases to salaries this year. We regret having to take this action; however, we do need to future protect the business to deal with the challenges above and the un-foreseen external pressures we have been presented with.
On the plus side, anyone earning less than £23,800 per year pro rata will have their salary increased to this amount from 1st April. We will also honour contractual increments up to the upper limit of each band. As a reminder, frontline staff can only move above the mid-point (£25k/yr) if they are taking on responsibilities associated with a senior practitioner role, as agreed with your Head of Service.
Tim and I are organising a Webinar to further present this to you on 3rd April 2025 at 11am, in which we’ll answer any questions you may have, but in the mean time if you have any questions, please contact your line manager in the first instance. The link to join the webinar is here. This will also be emailed out to you, so once accepted will appear in your Outlook calendar.
