Why has this training come about?
As you will know from my monthly updates, I have begun speaking with Health Coaches, Adult Weight Management teams, and DPP practitioners to identify the key skills and knowledge they would value in a learning pathway. A recurring theme throughout these conversations was the topic of alcohol. Colleagues highlighted that alcohol-related discussions are frequent in their work, and there is a clear need for stronger support in understanding its impact on both physical and mental health.
How do I access the training?
The course has been developed on SWAY (link below). It is self-guided and divided into sections, allowing you to consume the knowledge in bite-sized chunks at a pace that suits you and your schedule. As of next week you will be able to access this training from Totem > People's Portal > Training.
Pre and Post Knowledge Scores
All self-guided learning resources include pre- and post-knowledge scores for you to complete. These are important for two key reasons. Firstly, they help us evaluate the effectiveness of the training. Alongside the quizzes and feedback questionnaire, these scores enable me to identify areas that may need adapting to improve the learning experience. Secondly, the post-knowledge scores allow me to track who has completed the training so I can update your individual training record. Please note that the pre- and post-knowledge forms are the only elements that record individual names — all quizzes and feedback responses are completely anonymous.
