MAN v FAT's Road to Qatar this Movember

Haley

Digital Marketing Executive

It's nearly November, and more importantly for us here at MAN v FAT, that means it's nearly MOVEMBER! For those of you who don't know, Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health - mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer – they’re taking them all on.

The Road To Qatar 2022!

MAN v FAT are working with Movember to help raise awareness of Men’s Health issues for all our members, their friends and family members, and hopefully help them raise some much needed funds for the charity. We’d love for some of the people of Thrive Tribe and MAN v FAT to get involved too!

November is traditionally the month where extra emphasis is given to Men’s Health through the Movember Charity, this year also sees the World Cup starting in November for the first time ever.

Their fundraising this year is focused on moving 60km in November, however MAN v FAT would like to take it a little further, well approximately 110 times further!

Our challenge to you!

Get a team together and between you walk, run, swim or even bike the distance from Wembley to the World Cup Final stadium in Lusail, 6,743 kilometres to be precise. See if you can reach the venue before the end of the month and then relax and prepare for the knock-out stages of the World Cup.  Once you get there, turn around and head back to Wembley!

Why not make a competition of it? Individuals can sign up and track their progress against other individuals. Simply register here, then dust off those trainers/walking boots/cycling shorts and get ready to start on your virtual journey to Qatar.

MAN v FAT HQ can’t wait to see who can cover the most distance in November and how much we can raise for this great cause. You can post your pictures on Lifeworks or tag @manvfat and @lifeatthrivetribe on Instagram.

MAN v FAT

If you're new to Thrive Tribe you might not know too much about the work the MAN v FAT team do. If that's the case then read on!

Male obesity is still something of a taboo topic even though 2 out of 3 UK males are overweight or obese. And whilst discussions around mental health are more frequent and more accepted in today’s society than they were a decade ago, statistics show that men still need to be encouraged to open up about their feelings and be welcomed with less stigma.

MAN v FAT is where men lose weight and gain support from other guys who also want to shift a little bit of timber and ultimately change their lives for the better.

Unlike the conventional weight loss groups that are predominantly marketed towards women, MAN v FAT supports men and helps improve their health through guidance via coaches, as well as peer 2 peer support via our interactive digital and football communities.

MAN v FAT members support each other to lose weight week after week and you can try fun new forms of exercise and challenge yourself in the kitchen so that weight loss never becomes a chore.

MAN v FAT Football and MAN v FAT Challenge programmes are free to any men who fit both programme’s criteria and work for Thrive Tribe or MAN v FAT

We’d love to welcome you on board one of our programmes - as we've shown that our programmes can build healthy habits for life without feeling that you’re missing out on anything. Simply email our Player Support Team on [email protected] to sign up for free!
