Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15th Oct

Baby Loss Awareness Week is 9-15 October, a time for bereaved parents to commemorate their much loved babies. It’s also a time to raise awareness of the devastation of pregnancy and baby loss and provide support for those that need it.
Through our combined partnership with Tommy's,we have helped them to support families such as Deb's (below).
“He’s our miracle boy” – Deb’s Story
Deb and her partner lost 5 babies, including 1ectopic pregnancy, before being referred to the Tommy’s clinic in Birmingham.
“I found having my fallopian tube remove dreally traumatic to deal with, it wasn’t just the loss of a baby but the loss of a part of my fertility function, and a loss of trust in my body.”
Aftera few rounds of failed IVF, Deb fell pregnant and was supported by our team in Birmingham who prescribed progesterone at the start of her pregnancy.
“The team at the Tommy’s clinic were wonderful… Oonagh was able to manage our anxiety so well, knowing that scans had only meant loss until that point. It was lovely to have that reassurance and we felt so cared for at the Tommy’s clinic.”
Teddy was born under the care of Oonagh, our brilliant lead research nurse, and after a short stay Deb and her partner brought Teddy home. “He’s our miracle boy”.
Stories like Deb’s show that our research is saving babies’ lives and that change is happening. This is happening because of you. Thank you so much for your continued support, we appreciate everything you do for us.
Every time you help us – through signposting, fundraising, raising awareness - somebody that needs us, who might not otherwise find us, is able to get the support they need. Thank you ❤
